Kingston’s back!

Yes it’s back, after a long summer, Kingston University Taekwondo is back starting today Monday 24th September from 7 – 9pm and Thursdays 6 – 8pm.

We train at Tiffin School Sports Centre, London Road, Kingston, KT2 6RL

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Good day for training…

The weather forecast says it all!

See you at TASIS at 3pm 🙂

Tenets of Taekwondo

It can be difficult to discuss the tenets of Taekwondo in class.  Quite often we are too busy with patterns or kicking pads, but the tenets can be useful in life as well as in Taekwondo.

Courtesy (Ye Ui / 예의)
Integrity (Yom Chi / 염치)
Perseverance (In Nae / 인내)
Self-control (Guk Gi / 극기)
Indomitable Spirit (Baekjul Boolgool / 백절불굴)

How are the tenets part of your life?

All Grades Seminar – date for your diary

For the last two years, we’ve attended the Chungdokwan GB All Grades Seminar at Swanmore, Southampton, and we are certainly looking forward to the seminar this year on Saturday 3rd November.

This seminar is one of the only opportunities for association members of all grades to get together to train in a selection of sessions of their choice covering self-defence, poomse and kyorgi.  Watch this space for more info…

Another Kingston Club?

Over the last few months, I have had several queries about Taekwondo training in Kingston for non students.

Good news is that I have found a possible venue available Sundays from 12-2pm.

Now to you… Are you interested?  If you are, please let me know and we may well have another club.

RSVP 🙂

TASIS on Thursdays

As well as TASIS on Sundays we also have training on Thursdays from 7-8:30pm with Master Paul Sanders. The more training you can do the better you’ll get so try and make both sessions if you can.

First class back after the Summer

It’s another first this September… Stag Lane starts back today.  Have fun guys, better in a hall than outside in the cold!

Did you know?

LLTKD are club members of Chungdokwan GB who are a group member of British Taekwondo, the National Governing Body for WTF, Olympic-style Taekwondo.

How high can you go?

Master Lawrence showing us how it’s done with his trade mark flying side kick.

Congratulations Team GB & Paralympics GB

I was lucky enough to be atop an open top bus outside Charing Cross station watching the Olympic and Paralympic athletes on their Victory parade.

21 buses with 700 athletes and an estimated 1,000,000 people in the crowd.  It must have been amazing!
